Juniors enjoy top matchday experience thanks to club!

10 November 2014

Hundreds of children every season get to experience top matchday experience at Sheffield Wednesday thanks to a unique package offered by the club's Community Programme.

Last week’s game against Rotherham saw children from local Junior Football Club’s and schools join Sheffield Wednesday in their dedicated game to mark the 100th anniversary of World War One.

Children from Bramley Sunnyside Football Club, sponsored by J S Bethell & Co, Wincobank Infant School and Aston Swallownest, took part in the pre-match activities on the pitch and helped Sheffield Wednesday show their respect to those who lost their lives in World War One.

As well as joining the Owls on the Hillsborough pitch before kick-off, the children get to enjoy a ground tour, a coaching session, fun activities, dinner at the stadium, a pitchside photo, watch the game from the grandstand and a complimentary matchday programme – the perfect experience for any young football fan!

All groups are fully supervised by qualified Community Programme staff throughout the day.

Any Junior Football team or school wanting to take part contact Steven Taylor, Community Officer for the Community Programme, on 0781 6985770 or steven.taylor@swfc.co.uk
