- Owls await results on Joe Mattock scan
- Sam Hutchinson recovering after knee operation
- Ex-Chelsea man out for two months
Owls head coach Stuart Gray has issued injury updates on Wednesday duo Joe Mattock and Sam Hutchinson.
Mattock picked up an ankle injury during the Owls’ clash with Charlton at The Valley on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Hutchinson has had a successful knee operation after the midfielder suffered injury last month in the home fixture with Watford.
Gray said: “Joe has been unlucky.
“It’s one of those where the studs have got stuck in the turf and his body weight has gone on his ankle.
“He’s had a scan today and we now have to wait for the results.
“We have players who can fill in that position with Jeremy and Claude, but at this moment, our thoughts are with Joe and his recovery.
“With Sam, he had an operation last week and the specialist was very pleased with the results.
“They have tidied up the cartilage in the knee and we are looking at around two months for his recovery period.”
