19 November 2014

  • Stevie May came off the bench against England
  • First senior cap for Wednesday striker
  • May now prepares for Huddersfield clash

Stevie May has spoken of his pride having earned his first full international cap on Tuesday night.

The Wednesday striker played the last 25 minutes of Scotland’s 3-1 defeat to England at Celtic Park.

And May did not allow the scoreline to take the gloss from his notable achievement with Scotland.

He said: “It was a pity about the result, but an unbelievable feeling to make my debut for my country.”

May was drafted into the senior squad by manager Gordon Strachan having impressed for the Under-21s.

He now returns to the domestic stage with Wednesday, who make the short hop to Huddersfield in the Championship on Saturday.
