Owls legend enjoys Hillsborough welcome

14 November 2014

Don Megson has thanked Owls fans for turning out in numbers to his book signing last Saturday and showing typical Wednesday warmth.

The SWFC legend made a personal appearance in the Owls Megastore to promote his recently published autobiography ‘A Life In Football’.

And the former full back, one of the finest of his generation, enjoyed a nostalgic afternoon back at Hillsborough.

He told swfc.co.uk: “I had a lovely time and would like to thank everyone who came down to see me and who has bought a copy of the book.

“I’ve had all these names and anecdotes in my mind for so long and I really enjoyed putting them down in book form.

“It was nice meeting so many supporters and answering all their questions and having photographs taken.

“The questions came from the older generation and the new generation and the one thing they all have in common is their love for Sheffield Wednesday.”

‘A Life In Football’ charts the 30-year career of Don Megson as a player and manager and recounts the unique atmosphere surrounding football in the swinging sixties.

Priced £11.99 this book is the perfect memento or gift for anyone who remembers one of the true greats in the Owls’ illustrious history.
