Sheffield Wednesday mascot Ozzie Owl visited a national supermarket yesterday to help with the opening of a new store!
A new Sainsbury’s branch has opened on Wadsley Bridge in Hillsborough and yesterday Ozzie the Owl helped open the giant supermarket.
Ozzie took time to meet and have photos taken with members of the public and the Sainsbury’s staff!
The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme, the club’s charitable arm, is hoping to work in partnership with the branch to develop a number of initiatives and projects they are currently working on.
Chris Addleton, the Wadsley Bridge Sainsbury’s store manager, said: “It was great to have Ozzie at the store yesterday and it really added something different to the opening!
“Even though I’m a Nottingham Forest fan, I’m looking forward to welcoming Sheffield Wednesday fans to the store!”
Chris added: “Thanks to both the club and the Community Programme for helping us yesterday, everyone at the store loved having Ozzie!”
