Midfield man Kieran Lee has said Wednesday are lacking that bit of luck at present but a draw against local rivals Rotherham was a fair result.
Lee had a strong claim for a penalty late in the second half after going down under a challenge from Kirk Broadfoot.
Ex-Oldham man Lee believes on another day, it may have been given but the important thing was a response after defeat in midweek to Bournemouth and that the hard work continues.
He told swfc.co.uk: “I thought we started well in the first 15 minutes, on the front foot and continued that throughout the first half.
“In the second half, it was more even and they came back into the game. I think a draw was the fair result. But after the disappointment in midweek, we’ll add that point and work hard over the break.
“I think it was a penalty but I will have to watch the footage back. From my point of view, their man has taken me down but the referee hasn’t given it.”
International action takes over next weekend, meaning the Owls next feature on 22 November against Huddersfield Town away from home.
Lee added: “We’re doing everything we can to try and get the results. We’re creating the chances and putting balls into the box.
“I think maybe we need that bit of luck, like the penalty decision, and we will kick on.
“We have another derby after the break and I expect it to be at a similar pace. We’ll go away and work hard over the break and be ready for the game.”
