Table-toppers Bournemouth secured their seventh consecutive win at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Andrew Surman and Ryan Fraser won the points for the visitors after Royston Drenthe had earlier seen red for two bookable offences.

Reviewing the game, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said:

“We always look for little things we can do to gain an advantage. We put a man in front of their goalkeeper because we know he has great distribution and can find Nuhiu up front.

“It’s a great feeling to be top. The players have worked ever so hard to get themselves into this position.

“To win back-to-back games in this league is hard enough, to win the amount we have and to show the character we have is a real plus point.

“It’s going to get harder now because we are the scalp that everyone wants.”

On the Owls, he added: “Wednesday had a good start, they’ve played all the top teams at Hillsborough so their home record hasn’t been great, but their run has been tough.

“Stu is a top coach and I think he’ll get the very best out of the players he’s got here.

“But I think you have to respect our players on the night and the quality they showed.”
