'A point gained' says Jose Semedo

  • Owls will only get better says ex-Charlton man

It is often said there are no easy games or periods in the Championship, but the Owls have certainly been tested so far in 2014/15.

Wednesday have negotiated their way through a tough start to the campaign with games against seven sides that reside in the top half of the table.

Yet with just two league defeats in the last nine and nine clean sheets in all competitions, Jose Semedo feels the Owls are on course.

Norwich were the latest top six side to challenge Wednesday and on the 0-0 draw, he exclusively told swfc.co.uk:

“They are a very good side and it was a very difficult game but we got a point.

“I think it was a fair result because we were the better side in the first half and they were in the second but it was both teams going for the result.

“I think it was a good point for us in the end.”

Semedo was quick to praise Keiren Westwood after the goalless draw, who made a string of excellent saves – in particular the hat trick of impressive stops in the second half.

“Congratulations to our goalkeeper,” he said. “Keiren was outstanding and made some great saves.

“It’s important to keep clean sheets and if you can do that, then that’s half the battle.

“We are improving and getting better and the goals will come there is no doubt."
