Best in the Championship

26 October 2014

Stuart Gray has hailed Keiren Westwood as the best goalkeeper in the Championship following the goalless draw with Norwich on Saturday.

The Republic of Ireland international pulled off a string of top-drawer saves to preserve the Owls’ ninth clean sheet of the season, earning praise from all quarters - and a clean sweep of Man of the Match awards.

And Wednesday head coach Gray said: “Is he the best in the Championship? Yes, I would say so.

“Saturday’s game was the Keiren Westwood show, he made some world class saves.

“And it shows the character of the player because last week against Watford he made his only mistake since he joined us in the summer but he just shrugged it off and moved on.

“That is the measure of a quality player and in Keiren that is exactly what we have got.”
