- Lee Bullen looks forward to Barnsley test
- Under-21s head to Oakwell this evening (7.00pm)
- Owls coach says excellent opportunity for Owls youngsters
Owls coach Lee Bullen is looking forward to tonight’s clash with Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.
The Under-21s travel to Oakwell this evening and Bullen expects a tough challenge against the Reds.
But the former Owls defender has told his young squad to take their chance against experienced opposition.
He told swfc.co.uk: “I’ve told my players not to waste opportunities like this because they never know who is watching and what chances may be around the corner.
“We’re looking forward to it but it will be tough.
“I think Barnsley will use this game as an opportunity to give some of their senior players a run out after some disappointing results this season.
“We went top of the table after a terrific win at Colchester but under the floodlights at Oakwell, it will be a big test for our young squad.
“It’s great for our younger players to get this experience.
“Results have been excellent of late but the next step for some of our lads is maybe a loan move away from the club to play with points on the line.”
