- Giles Coke targets winning run
- Midfielder says consistency is vital in the second tier
- The midfielder joined the Owls ahead of the 2010/11 campaign
Owls midfield man Giles Coke has said there is a chance for any team in the Championship to have a successful season if they can find a level of consistency.
The 28-year-old has been encouraged by Wednesday’s positive start to 2014/15.
Such is the spirit and feelgood factor in the camp at present, that Coke believes the Owls can go on a run and climb even higher.
He told this website: “In our division, there really is a chance for anyone who can get on a good run and it’s about being able to get that consistency in performance.
“If we can do that then who knows. We’re all in this together as a group and if we can keep up the start we’ve made then anything is possible.”
Coke is well into his fifth season at Hillsborough and says he feels more at home in S6 than ever.
Enjoying life in the Championship with the Owls, he continued: “The great thing about this division is that there are so many good players and it’s so competitive.
“I’m feeling good and I’m feeling confident and for me, confidence is very important for a footballer.
“I think I’m an honest type of person and I know when things aren’t right or if I’ve had a good game.
“But it helps being at such a big club like Sheffield Wednesday as you can learn so much from the players that you play with and against and that’s been the case throughout my time here so far.”
