Former Charlton midfielder Jose Semedo will return to The Valley this weekend with Wednesday.

Semedo spent four seasons with the Addicks between 2007 and 2011, before switching to Hillsborough and has fond memories of his time in South East London.

The 29-year-old was crowned as Charlton’s Player of the Year in May 2011 before joining Wednesday that summer.

He told the Owls’ official website: “I always look forward to going back there. They are a good club and are doing very well in the league.

“It’s always an exciting game for me to go and play there.

“The last two or three times we have been there, we have come back with points.

“We have picked up some good results and that’s what we want this weekend, so we are looking forward to it.”

The Owls drew 1-1 with Charlton at The Valley last time out with Connor Wickham on target to cancel out an earlier Johnnie Jackson strike.

Prior to that, Wednesday caused a late upset in 2012/13, as goals from Reda Johnson and Leroy Lita won three points at the last for the Owls.
