The Owls Under-18s have a free weekend and coach Steven Haslam says the break has come at the right time for everyone concerned.
Haslam and his staff will take the opportunity to reflect on what has proved a promising campaign so far – particularly at the back, where Wednesday have posted six successive clean sheets.
Haslam told swfc.co.uk: “The break has come at a good time for us as we've had a couple of lads off ill this week and it allows the players to recover from knocks picked up in the last match against Cardiff.
“It also give a chance for the players and coaching staff to reflect on the progress that has been made with the squad since the start of the season.
“Whilst I have been satisfied with the individual and collective improvement shown so far, we will continue to demand higher standards and look to kick on in the fixtures coming up."
The Under-18s are back in action on Saturday 1 November against Huddersfield at Middlewood Road.
