Haslam pleased with Under-18s

6 October 2014

Academy coach Steven Haslam heaped the praise on his young charges following the weekend win over Charlton at Middlewood Road.

Goals from Mason Duffy and Warren Clarke either side of half time did the damage against the table-topping Londoners.

The win was the Under-18s’ third on the spin and fourth clean sheet.

Haslam told swfc.co.uk: “"Full credit must go to the players in what was an excellent performance against the Southern League leaders.

“Once again we were solid in defence to record our fourth consecutive clean sheet and our play in possession was good.

“Right from the kick-off the players showed real urgency to drive us forward as a team and we dominated the game throughout.

“It was pleasing to see Mason Duffy score from a corner we have been practicing on the training ground and Warren Clarke got the second goal after good work by Matt Penney down the left side.”
