Lee Bullen praises young Owls

13 October 2014

Owls coach Lee Bullen has praised his young squad in all departments after the Under-21s defeated Colchester 5-0 on Monday evening.

The Under-21 Professional Development League clash at The Weston Homes Community Stadium saw Wednesday pick up the points in impressive fashion.

Goals from Franck Betra, Ryan Meadows (2), Will De Havilland and Matt Penney extended the Owls Under-21s’ unbeaten run and Bullen said:

“I’m delighted with the performance.

“We looked very strong and powerful and played with great belief and trust in each other.

“We moved the ball around with quality, especially in the second half.

“It’s difficult to pick out individuals after a performance like that.

“But the strikers, Franck Betra and Mani Dieseruvwe, were the catalysts and goalkeeper Brad McDonagh, who is just 16-years-old, has now kept six clean sheets in a row for the Under-18s and Under-21s."
