Maguire seeks home run

24 October 2014

Owls forward Chris Maguire has said it's fine margins in the Championship between winning games and being left frustrated at the final whistle.

The Scot wants to see more points added to the tally from home fixtures but believes Wednesday will go on a run at Hillsborough.

The Owls triumphed in S6 against Reading last month but Maguire believes Wednesday should have more to show from their home displays.

He said: “It’s fine margins in this division and we have to cut out the errors to start climbing the league again.

“We have been unlucky at home this season. We’ve conceded a late, late goal against Millwall which denied us another win, we matched Forest and feel we should have beaten Derby and Ipswich.

“Every team wants to have a good run of form at home and put on a show for the fans. We’re no different.”

As Maguire assesses this weekend’s opponents Norwich, despite the Premier League pedigree within the squad, the versatile forward is confident Wednesday can come out on top.

“We’re at home so we have to take the game to them but it will be tough.”

He added: “They are an ex-Premier League team but we’re not on a bad run, we just need to pick the wins up.

“If we get at them and unsettle them, then I don’t see why we can’t come away with the points.

“We have to let them know they are in a game and I’m sure we can come out on top."
