Owls face Hutchinson wait

18 October 2014

The Owls will discover the extent of Sam Hutchinson’s knee injury over the next couple of days.

Hutchinson lasted just six minutes of Saturday’s home defeat to Watford before landing awkwardly, leading to his early departure.

The ex-Chelsea midfielder was making his comeback having already missed the lion’s share of the season.

Head coach Stuart Gray said: “We’ll have to see on Sam. I haven’t had chance yet to sit down and discuss it properly with the medical team so we’ll have a full assessment on Sunday or Monday.

“He’s gone up for a header and rocked his knee a little when he landed and had to come off.

“I’m really disappointed for the boy because all he wants to do is play football.

“It’s too early to say what it is so we will know more when we decide if he needs a scan or not.”

Gray also revealed that Lewis Buxton sat out the Watford clash with a tweaked knee sustained in training on Friday.
