Positive news for Buxton and Lavery

23 October 2014

  • Stuart Gray pleased with Caolan Lavery progress
  • Lewis Buxton back on the training pitch

Stuart Gray has reported positive news from the treatment room with regard to Lewis Buxton and Caolan Lavery.

While Buxton looks set to miss out on Saturday having injured his knee in training, the Owls head coach is expecting the defender to resume full training early next week.

The experienced stopper was back on the training pitch on Thursday with the physios.

Meanwhile, Lavery has stepped up his progress and is well on the road to recovery from a cruciate knee injury suffered in pre-season.

An update from the specialist has revealed promising news for the striker, who can now increase his workload at Middlewood Road.

Gray said: “Caolan has had a meeting with his specialist and the specialist is delighted with him.

“We can increase his workload. At the moment he is running on the AlterG treadmill in the gym but it may still be a while before he is back in full training with the group.

“Lewis was out on the training pitch today which is positive news, although he didn’t join in with the main group.

“He’s trained with the physios and we’re hoping it will be early next week for him to be back in training.”
