PRE-MATCH

Stuart Gray: “It’s important to have a foothold in the game for 90 minute.

“We were poor in the first half against Leeds and poor in the first half against Watford.

“We managed to get into the game at Leeds in the second half but it’s about doing it consistently from the very first minute."

Mark Warburton: “Sheffield Wednesday have made a very good start. They have a good manager.

“They are hard to beat. We’re well aware of the threat they’ll pose.

“But we’re at home in front of a packed Griffin Park. We’ll look to impose ourselves as we have done this season.”

BUILD-UP

Jose Semedo reflected fondly on the Owls’ previous visit to Griffin Park that resulted in a crucial 2-1 win for Wednesday, during the pre-match press conference.

MATCHDAY

Notoriously strong at home, the Owls arrived in West London for the Championship clash aiming to inflict defeat on Brentford for only the second time this season on home soil.

TALKING POINT

Stevie May came so close to breaking the deadlock at Griffin Park but flicked against the post from a dangerous Chris Maguire delivery.

POST-MATCH

Stuart Gray: “We had some chances, we hit the post, but it just wouldn’t fall for us tonight.

“In terms of the way we played, I thought the effort and commitment was outstanding, I couldn’t have asked for any more.

“We defended from the front, where Stevie May and Atdhe Nuhiu ran their socks off, as did Gary Madine when he came on.

Mark Warburton: "I don’t think it was a 0-0 game. We started really well in the first 25 minutes, I thought we were excellent but didn't get the reward.

“Sheffield Wednesday were dangerous, we gave away a few set pieces and they had good delivery. We knew the threat they posed.

INTERVIEW

Liam Palmer gives his reaction to the press after the match and was pleased with the clean sheet, though frustrated at being held to a goalless draw.
