Taylor-Fletcher delighted to join

25 October 2014

  • Gary Taylor-Fletcher signs on loan
  • Temporary switch for Leicester man
  • Striker looking forward to Owls stint

New recruit Gary Taylor-Fletcher has told swfc.co.uk of his delight at having joined Wednesday on a temporary deal.

The striker linked up with the Owls on Saturday from Premiership side Leicester on a short term loan and goes straight into the squad to face Norwich a Hillsborough.

He said: “It’s happened quickly and I couldn’t be happier.

“The last six weeks or so have been really frustrating for me because as a professional footballer you want to play games.

“As soon as I heard of the interest from Sheffield Wednesday I wanted this to happen.

“This club is a proper sleeping giant.”

The former Blackpool frontman is no stranger to S6 having trained with the Owls in the summer of 2013.

He eventually signed for Leicester but Wednesday and in particular Stuart Gray made a lasting impression.

He explained: “I was with Wednesday for a few weeks and really enjoyed the place and the training.

“I worked with Stuart Gray then and was impressed and you remember those kind of things.

“So whether I am here for one month or whether it ends up being any longer, I just want to work hard for the manager, play some games and help Sheffield Wednesday in whatever way I can.”
