Under-18s extend unbeaten run

11 October 2014

The Owls’ Under 18s drew 0-0 away from home at Colchester on Saturday and extended their unbeaten run to five games.

After last week’s impressive 2-0 win over leaders Charlton, Steven Haslam's side were looking to stretch their run of resistance with confidence high within the ranks.

Top goalscorer Mason Duffy went close just after half time in a game of few chances and the Owls kept the hosts out to post their fifth successive clean sheet.

Haslam was pleased with the performance in Essex, telling swfc.co.uk:

"The players put a real shift in to earn our fifth consecutive clean sheet and keep the unbeaten run going.

"Defensively we were solid but I felt we needed to pass the ball with more quality and show more composure when we had the ball as the game was a bit frantic.

"It's always satisfying to get a clean sheet away from home and the whole squad deserve credit for the unbeaten run that we are on, but I'll be looking for a better performance next weekend when we play Cardiff City."

The Under-18s face the Welsh side on Saturday 18 October at Middlewood Road.
