- Owls salvaged point in 2-2 draw at Bramall Lane
- Steel City derby took place three years ago today
- Goals from Chris O'Grady and Gary Madine
Three years ago today, the Owls made the short hop across the city to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United in the first Steel City showdown of the 2011/12 League One campaign.
With eight minutes left of the Sheffield derby, and Wednesday 2-0 down, there seemed little hope of the visitors salvaging anything from the game.
But the capacity away following in S2 and the thousands present at Hillsborough for the beamback could sense a comeback on the cards when Chris O’Grady nodded past Steve Simonsen in the 82nd minute.
Then four minutes later, Gary Madine scored his 11th goal of the season from a deep Jose Semedo punt forward, much to the delight of the blue and white half of Sheffield.
