- Stuart Gray delighted with new additions
- Claude Dielna and Royston Drenthe on board at Hillsborough
- Head coach pleased with the added strength, depth and competition
Stuart Gray has spoken of his delight at having added two quality players to his squad in the shape of Claude Dielna and Royston Drenthe.
The French midfielder and Dutch winger joined he Owls on permanent and temporary transfers respectively, leaving the head coach pleased with his new additions.
He told swfc.co.uk: “I’m really pleased because it gives us added strength and more competition for places.
“And we have added quality, which is really important.
“Both Claude and Royston have plenty of experience and they will bring in a new dimension to the squad.
“They have trained with the boys and you can see the quality is there straight away.
“They are outstanding players and I am looking forward to seeing them out on the pitch for Sheffield Wednesday.”
In terms of what Dielna and Drenthe will bring to the party, Gray emphasised the duo will inject much-needed depth in addition to the natural ability.
He explained: “Claude is left-footed and essentially a centre half but he can also play at left back.
“And with Glenn Loovens suspended for our next game at Bolton, it is important we have more strength in depth.
“With Royston, he is very skilful, he can go past players and packs a really powerful shot.
“I have been impressed so far and I think the squad has been given a real lift.”
