Atdhe delighted with August award

5 September 2014

August Player of the Month Atdhe Nuhiu has thanked Owls fans for voting the striker as the winner of the award.

Nuhiu struck four times during the first month of the campaign.

The striker opened his account for the term in the Capital One Cup with goal in the 3-0 win over Notts County.

A brace at Middlesbrough followed before the striker sealed Wednesday’s passage in the League Cup by scoring from the spot against Burnley.

In the August Player of the Month poll, fans voted in their numbers for the towering striker, and Nuhiu was delighted with the response.

He said: “Thanks to everyone who voted for me. I’m happy with this award but without the team I wouldn’t get that so I thank my team mates.

“It’s an award for the team as well but I’m really pleased that the supporters chose me and I want to thank every single one of them.

“When I got the news that I had won, I was really happy and it shows that I had some good performances and the fans have seen that.

“It’s my job to help the team and I’m really happy to be a part of it.

“I am enjoying being here and playing for this club. We have the best supporters and I think they appreciate and like the way I play.

“I hope I can give them a little bit back of what they are giving to me.”
