- Development Squad draw 1-1 at Ipswich on Monday
- Manny Dierseruvwe hits the net for Wednesday
- Coach Lee Bullen delighted with display
The Owls’ Under-21s turned in what Lee Bullen tagged their ‘best performance of the season so far’ at Ipswich on Monday night.
The Development Squad league encounter in Suffolk ended 1-1 as the young visitors held an experienced Ipswich side.
The hosts took the lead in the second half through a Stephen Hunt free kick but Wednesday hit back with Manny Dierseruvwe on target.
Coach Bullen told swfc.co.uk: “That was our best performance of the season so far. We were outstanding to a man.
“We matched Ipswich if not edged them and it would have been a travesty if the boys didn’t take something from the game.
“Ipswich fielded a very strong team with the likes of Bart Bialkowski, Jack Collison, Darren Ambrose and Stephen Hunt and we were more than a match.
“I’m proud of them all.”
