Lee Bullen was pleased with the way in which his young charges came from a goal behind to go on and dominate local rivals Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
The Owls drew 1-1 across the city, as Ed Sanders cancelled out Connor Dimaio’s opener for the Blades.
Wednesday might have taken all three points with a spirited second half display but Bullen was satisfied with the draw.
He said: “Sheffield United dominated the first half and we weren’t at the races at all.
“We lost a lot of individual battles and I stressed that to them at half time. But we made a couple of changes and tried to get a little bit of discipline in our play and it seemed to work as I thought we were by far the better team in the second half.
"We fully merited the equaliser but I've told the players that I won't be brushing the first half performance underneath the carpet.
“It's important we learn from that and we will look at that over the next couple of days and make sure we are ready for Brentford.”
