Franck Betra heading in right direction

6 September 2014

  • Franck Betra making good progress for Wednesday
  • Striker scored second brace on Friday
  • 'He can go all the way' says coach Lee Bullen

Lee Bullen predicts a bright future for Franck Betra if the young striker stays on his current path of progress.

Betra bagged another brace on Friday to help the Owls’ Under-21s beat Swansea 2-1 at Hillsborough, adding to the double posted against Hull in a pre-season friendly for the Development Squad.

Following the Swans victory, Bullen purred over the Frenchman’s second strike, a stunning solo effort to settle the contest:

He said: “For Franck Betra’s work rate and determination, he fully deserved that second goal. It was outstanding.

“He has two more goals to go with the two he scored against Hull so I am certainly pleased with his progress.

“His confidence levels are high and that comes from working hard and scoring goals.”

Betra continues to take strides in the right direction for the Under-21s, with the next pathway that into first team contention.

Bullen noted:  “He’s still got a bit to do, he still frustrates at times but he has got everything in his locker.

“He has his goals and that is always great for a striker.

“There are things there to work on but he is a young boy with the raw materials to go all the way.

“We’re working with him every day to get those basics right but he is a great asset to have at this football club.

“Like all the young lads, he has to keep working hard in every training session and in every game, then you are fully prepared for whatever is around the next corner.”
