- Owls expecting bumper crowd on Saturday
- Prices slashed to £10 and £5
- Wednesday and Reading in excellent form
Stuart Gray is looking forward to experiencing a packed Hillsborough on Saturday as the Owls seek their first home league win of the season.
With the club having slashed prices for the game against Reading, a bumper crowd in the region of 30,000 is expected in S6.
And Gray is confident his players will provide the spark for an electric atmosphere.
He said: “When Hillsborough is rocking, there is no better place to play your football.
““We go into the match full of confidence and will get a bumper crowd, but we have to entertain them. It’s up to the players to give the fans a lift.
“It will be a good atmosphere with two good teams. It’s down to us to put the opposition on the back foot.
“I’ve got every confidence in the players because I trust them 100 per cent. At the moment, they are buoyant and it’s not difficult for me to pick a team with the way the lads are performing.”
Both the Owls and the Royals head into the game in fine form, so something has to give if tomorrow’s game is to produce a winner.
And the incentive for Wednesday is that three points will see them leapfrog Reading in the Championship table.
Gray added: “We don’t fear anybody. We have had six clean sheets. I’m a little disappointed we haven’t scored more goals but hopefully that will come.
“We are playing well, creating chances, and we want that to continue.
“Our away form has been superb and we know we have to start producing at Hillsborough.
“Our home form hasn’t been poor – far from it – but we haven’t got the results our performances have deserved.
“Hopefully that will change on Saturday.”
