Owls look forward to Ipswich challenge

29 September 2014

  • Owls back in action against Ipswich
  • Hillsborough clash on Tuesday night
  • Stuart Gray reunited with ex-team mate

The whole of the SWFC camp is looking forward to the challenge that Ipswich will bring on Tuesday, says Stuart Gray.

Wednesday are still smarting from their narrow defeat at Cardiff on Saturday, a reverse he feels they did not deserve.

And looking forward, Gray is out to post three important points against the Tractor Boys at Hillsborough:

“There’s no reason why we can’t get the points and that is the approach we have for every game.

“We are all looking forward to tomorrow because we want that quick opportunity to get back on the park.

“I should be talking here with us having taken something from Saturday because we certainly deserved it.

“But we know what we have to do and where we have to improve. We have been working on those things today and I want to see them in place on Tuesday.”

Gray will meet with a familiar face across the dugout area in the shape of Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy and added: “I’ve known Mick a long time since we were both players at Barnsley in the 1980s.

“He was also at Wolves when I was there so I know Mick well and I have a lot of admiration for him.

“He is a very honest manager. We played Ipswich on the last day of last season and unfortunately I didn’t get to see him after the game.

“But he was straight on the phone later and was very complimentary about us, which was nice.”
