Stuart Gray issues injury update

27 September 2014

Stuart Gray issued an injury update following the Owls’ 2-1 defeat at Cardiff.

Centre back Tom Lees was an absentee in the Welsh capital and Gray said the hitherto ever present sustained a hamstring strain in midweek.

Gray said: “Tom felt his hamstring in the Manchester City game and I’m told it’s a Grade 2 so we will have to wait and see.

“Hopefully it will only be days but Tom has never had a soft tissue injury before.”

Elsewhere, Gray said that Kieran Lee and Sam Hutchinson are moving closer to a return, although the latter has more of a chance of featuring on Tuesday against Ipswich.

He added: “Kieran has trained with the group but I don’t think it would be fair to put him straight back into the team.

“I would say Sam is closer and he could be ready for Ipswich.”

Kamil Zayatte will be available for the Town clash having served his one-match ban on Saturday following his red card at Manchester City.
