Sheffield Wednesday defender Matt Penney produced a special moment during the Owls Under-21 clash with Brentford on Monday afternoon.
After the break, the youngster unleashed a ferocious first time hit from distance that flew past goalkeeper Nik Tzanev.
A certain contender for the Development Squad’s Goal of the Season, Penney’s strike put the Owls ahead before Brentford promptly equalised to share the spoils.
Penney said: “I just saw the ball bounce up and decided to hit it first time.
“I thought it might hit the bar at first but it was great to see it go in.
“It’s a long way to travel to Brentford and we picked up a good point there. Now we all want to kick-on and keep picking up the results.”
