Young Owls in charity friendly

8 September 2014

The Owls are sending a young XI to play local side Aquaforce on Monday night in a friendly contest to raise money for Weston Park Hospital.

The game is in the name of lifelong Wednesdayite Craig Wood, who recently encountered and beat cancer.

Consequently, Craig’s friends and family are raising both awareness and funds for Weston Park.

Part of that process is tonight’s charity game, which is fully supported by the Owls.

Academy coach Steve Haslam said: "Our young players are really looking forward to the game tonight and we are delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause."

The match kicks off at 7.00pm and takes place at Barugh Football Club, Barnsley Cricket Club, Shaw Lane, Barnsley, postcode S70 6HZ.

Prices are £5 adults and £3 concessions, with all profits going directly to Weston Park.

Good luck to everyone involved!
