Stuart Gray was pleased with the result and the way in which Wednesday saw out the game against Brentford on Tuesday.
The Owls triumphed 1-0 as a Kieran Lee strike in the second half put a dent in the visitors’ play-off ambitions.
And Gray said: “I said before the game that if we got our noses in front, we have to play the game out and we did that.
“I’m pleased for the players and I’m pleased for the fans because they haven’t seen us win too many times here this season.
“I thought we were going to need that second goal because Brentford did threaten but we have come away with the points.
“We’ve got the clean sheet too and that rounds off a very productive evening.”
