Curtains to close on the campaign with sell-out clash

30 April 2015

The curtains will close on the 2014/15 Championship campaign on Saturday as Wednesday travel to Watford for the season finale.

Owls fans have snapped up their full allocation for the trip to Vicarage Road and supporters are urged not to travel to Hertfordshire without a valid ticket.

Plenty is on the line this weekend for the sell-out clash as the Hornets, who have already sealed promotion to the Premier League, will want to celebrate their rise to the top flight by clinching the Championship title.

Given Bournemouth’s victory over Bolton on Monday, the top spot in the Championship will be decided on Saturday.

Watford are in the box seat, one point clear of the Cherries, but will have to defeat the Owls to ensure they finish top of the pile.

But by no means is this contest a formality given Wednesday’s form on the road this season.

The Owls took a point from Bournemouth earlier this month in the 2-2 draw and will be out to secure their tenth travelling success of the term.

The Hornets will have to overcome Wednesday’s resilience to avoid allowing the Cherries to finish on top.
