Ex-Owl Jon Newsome in Steel City Derby

20 April 2015

A cancer survivor, along with rival legends from Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, is attempting a 135 mile bike ride to try and raise £10,000 for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for the hospital and exists to support the world-class cancer research and to improve the treatment and care for people living with cancer.

Ex-Owl Jon Newsome, Dane Whitehouse (Sheffield United) and Marvin Henshaw are doing the coast to coast cycle challenge in June from Whitehaven to Sunderland.

Father of three, Marvin, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of 23, is challenging the rival fans to get behind the challenge to find out who are the best supporters.

Can you help make sure the Owls take the lead in donations? Text 70070 followed by CHMF49 & £amount – making sure you include UTO (Up The Owls)

The challenge is also a special way of honouring Marvin’s cousin, Craig, who sadly passed away from cancer.
