Lavery backs Bus to be a Hillsborough hit

14 April 2015

In-form striker Caolan Lavery took the plaudits last time out at Hillsborough for his performance and goal against Charlton.

The young Canadian was unfortunate not to add to that tally after his blistering strike came thumping back off the upright during the second half.

In the middle of Lavery’s purple patch, the 22-year-old has backed team mate Bus to strike a chord with the supporters and produce the goods for Wednesday.

Lavery said: “There is more to come from Sergiu and think we will see the best of him next season.

“He came in January and it’s always difficult for overseas players to come here and adapt to the game because it’s a different playing field all together.

“It will definitely help Sergiu getting a pre-season under his belt.”

The duo could well feature in tonight’s clash with Brentford and Lavery continued:

“I enjoyed playing alongside Sergiu. He likes to take players on which is brilliant.

“I thought we worked well.”
