Chris Maguire says there was never any doubt in his mind as he stood up to take the penalty in the 95th minute to earn the Owls a point at Bournemouth.
After a battling and spirited performance in what proved an entertaining game, Wednesday looked to have been consigned to defeat.
But Maguire stepped up to confidently dispatch his late spot kick after Yann Kermorgant and Matt Ritchie had overturned Kieran Lee’s earlier goal.
He said: It’s a good chance for me to get back on the scoresheet and there was never any doubt in the back of my mind that I would hit the back of the net.
“Thankfully for myself and the team it went in and we got a deserved point.
“I practise them every day in training and there were no nerves. I knew what I had to do.
“I thought we deserved a point, we maybe could count ourselves unfortunate not to have three but we’ll go home happy with how we have performed against a strong team.”
