Owls legend Terry Curran in ‘bake off’ charity event

29 April 2015

Two local footballing legends are taking part in a special baking event to support the regions cancer hospital by making ‘Time for Tea with TC’ at Lynne’s Pantry.

Former Owl Terry Curran will be joining former Sheffield United player Tony Currie for a ‘bake off and brew’ to launch Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity’s ‘Time for Tea’ campaign.

The two Sheffield sporting greats will be encouraging supporters across the region to pop the kettle on this May and help raise money to benefit 75,000 people fighting cancer across the region.

The duo will come together for a bake off at Lynne’s Pantry whilst chatting to customers and offering their very own bakes.

Both Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United are offering their support for the tea party campaign, which last year raised an incredible £36,000.

The Tea Party takes place at Lynne’s Pantry, 401 Glossop Road, Sheffield, S10 2PR on Thursday 30 April 10am – 12pm.

Now into its second year, Time for Tea is a fundraising initiative which invites people to host their very own tea party whilst raising money to support the work of Weston Park Hospital.

Last year, over 150 tea parties were organised in support of the campaign, from small community gatherings to large scale corporate get-togethers.

The cancer charity needs to raise over £1.8 million this year to enable the funding of committed and new projects that will keep Weston Park Hospital at the forefront of cancer treatment.

To sign up for Time for Tea visit www.timeforteaparty.com or call the Cancer Charity office on 0114 2265370.
