Wednesday gained a point from the clash with Huddersfield in the first game of April but were left disappointed having led late in the day from Sergiu Bus’ maiden goal, only for Ishmael Miller to level in the final minute.

A strong Norwich side claimed maximum points on Easter Monday at Carrow Road before the Owls were pegged back at Hillsborough by Charlton, as Johann Berg Gudmundsson cancelled out Caolan Lavery’s first half strike.

Having dropped points to Huddersfield and Charlton, the odds were against Wednesday to pick up three against play-off challengers Brentford.

But Kieran Lee upset the Bees as the midfielder bagged his fifth goal of the season, stroking the ball home into the Kop net 15 minutes from time.

The midfielder then extended his purple patch next time out at Bournemouth.

The Cherries led the way in the Championship when the Owls visited The Goldsands but in the South Coast sunshine, Lee nodded the Owls a goal up in the first half.

Bournemouth have been unstopbbale in front of goal this season and when Yann Kermorgant and Matt Ritchie put the hosts ahead, there seemed little hope for Stuart Gray’s side.

But deep into added time, Adam Smith brought down Atdhe Nuhiu in the box and Chris Maguire did the honours from 12 yards to seal a dramatic point.

The month then finished with a disappointing home loss to Yorkshire rivals Leeds United.
