Vote for your SWFC Player of the Year!

22 April 2015

Sheffield Wednesday fans can now vote for their swfc.co.uk 2014/15 Player of the Year.

The vote will run until Friday 24 April at 5.00pm and supporters can make their selection by CLICKING HERE.

Way back in August, Stuart Gray’s men made a terrific start to the campaign and secured their first victory on the opening day at Brighton.

That good form continued throughout August with impressive wins over Notts County in the Capital One Cup, promotion contenders Middlesbrough and Premier League side Burnley.

Throughout the season there have been plenty of highs – particularly on the road – and Wednesday extended their fantastic form away from home in September with a 2-0 win over Birmingham at St Andrew’s.

A winless run in October was finally brought to an end in late November as a Stevie May double at Hillsborough saw off strugglers Wigan and Wednesday made it back to back wins, with a last minute Claude Dielna strike sealing three points against Blackburn.

Having been humbled by Manchester City earlier in the campaign, the Owls had a return date at the Etihad in January and ran the Premier League champions all the way in the FA Cup third round before conceding right at the last.

But there was no hangover from the cup exit as the Owls produced one of their performances of the season next time out at The City Ground against Forest, with goals from Kieran Lee and Chris Maguire.

Many highlights would follow, including impressive wins over Millwall and Middlesbrough and the memorable stoppage time fightback at The New York Stadium, as the Owls defeated Rotherham 3-2.

During April, Wednesday had a big say in the promotion race, defeating Brentford on home soil before snatching a point at The Goldsands in added time, knocking Bournemouth off top spot in the process.

Supporters can now select from all players on permanent contracts at the club, who have started a Championship fixture.
