Carlos reviews Leeds derby

22 August 2015

A point apiece was a fair result, said Carlos Carvalhal following the 1-1 draw with Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Owls gave a thoroughly good account of themselves in the Yorkshire derby and came away with an even share of the spoils, which was acknowledged by the head coach:

“We played a good game today, we controlled a lot of it but Leeds can say similar so I think a draw is the right result.

“I am very pleased with the answers of the players after the game on Wednesday because I needed to see that.

“I made a lot of changes to the team and that I why we have the squad. We have good players who can play in positions all over the pitch and the players who came in today did well for the team.

“We scored first, we had the advantage but Leeds started the second half very strong. I knew what we had to do to correct this and I wanted to make the substitution, but the ball did not go out of play before we could do that.

“We were much more solid after that and we could have won the game but so too could Leeds so a point each I think is fair.”
