The Owls’ Under-18s were edged out 2-1 by Sheffield United in a dramatic derby encounter at Shirecliffe on Tuesday.

The Blades scored at the end of both halves and Mason Duffy’s effort for Wednesday ultimately counted for nothing.

Wednesday: McDonagh, Brown, Stachini, Kirby, O'Grady, Lee, Centeno (Penney 57), Clarke (Price 73), Hirst, Duffy (Nicholson 89), Preston
