The Owls will play Premier League side Newcastle United at St James’ Park in the third round of the Capital One Cup.
The tie will take place in the week commencing 21 September.
Wednesday progressed to round three with a 1-0 win over Oxford United, while the Magpies went through having beaten Northampton Town 4-1.
