Jose predicts a bright future for Owls ace
Jose Semedo is confident his fellow countryman Marco Matias will be a big hit at Hillsborough.Following the winger’s stunning strike at Elland Road on Saturday, Semedo says he expects more of this to come throughout the season.
The midfielder – who was an admirer of Matias before his switch to Wednesday in the summer – said:
“We have seen this guy score a lot of goals for his last team in Portugal and he always pulls attention.
“You read in the news that the national team might be looking at him because he is a young and exciting player.”
Matias scored 17 goals in the Primeira Liga last term and also notched three times in the Europa League and the Taça de Portugal.
Now off the mark for Wednesday, and in stunning fashion, Semedo is happy to have him on board with the Owls and added:
“Halfway through the season last year, I started following him and I’m sure he will give a lot of happiness to Sheffield Wednesday fans.
“I think he will be outstanding for the season, we have very good players here and he will make a big difference that is for sure.”
