SWFC Community Engagement Scheme

28 August 2015

With Wednesday facing Middlesbrough at Hillsborough on Saturday, the club are reminding supporters of the recently launched Community Engagement Scheme.

Implemented to aid supporters without the resource to watch the Owls at Hillsborough on a regular basis via subsidised tickets, the innovative scheme began ahead of the new 2015/16 campaign.

The ethos of the Community Engagement Scheme sees Wednesdayites nominate fellow fans whose personal circumstances prohibit the purchase of matchday tickets.

The scheme, unveiled for the curtain-raiser against Bristol City earlier this month, works by supporters providing an outline story of their nomination by emailing: ces@swfc.co.uk with the nominee’s SWFC client ID and a contact number.

Supporters can also nominate themselves providing the same information. A representative of the club will respond by return.

Chairman Dejphon Chansiri has pledged his full support to anyone unable to attend matches at Hillsborough by setting aside a significant financial sum to fund the ground-breaking project.

He said at the launch: “I genuinely want to hear the stories our supporters have to tell and as chairman of their club, my desire is to help them come to our games if they cannot afford to do so.

“In the short, medium and long term, I will continue to explore further strategies to ensure we have as many of our fans inside Hillsborough as possible.”
