Owls forward Marco Matias said he is confident more goals will come after scoring with a spectacular strike against Leeds on Saturday.
Matias’ control in the box was immaculate, flicking the ball over his marker before beating Leeds goalkeeper Marco Silvestri all ends up with a stunning volley.
In fact, the Portuguese ace says it’s up there with the best of his career and is now intent on adding more to help the team.
With the help of team mate and translator Jose Semedo, he said: “I’m really happy to score this amazing goal, my first for the club and I’m happy to help the team.
“We kept the point and I hope to get more and more goals as the season goes on.
“I have scored a lot of goals in my career and I scored one last year similar to this but this one is the best one I have scored.
“I knew my first goal was coming. I am hoping to help the team as much as I can by scoring these goals.”
Matias has featured in all three of the Owls’ Championship fixtures and is happy with his progress so far in England.
He added: “My adaptation to the championship has been good, we have a good squad of players and coaching staff, who have helped me a lot.
“The goals will come naturally for me like they did last year and in the past and it will help the team.”
