The Opposition - Anton Ferdinand

19 August 2015

Reading defender Anton Ferdinand is out to extend the Royals’ defensive parsimony when his side visit Hillsborough tonight.

The Royals have recorded back to back clean sheets against Colchester in the Capital One Cup and Leeds in the Championship, with Wednesday next up for the Berkshire outfit.

And Ferdinand said: “We defended well as a unit against Leeds, our shape was fantastic for all to see.

“It would be great to get a result at Hillsborough now.  It’s brilliant to play at home in front of your fans, but as a defender I really enjoy when we can go away from home and dig out a result.”

He added: “I’ve played up there once before, for England Under-21s where we won, so hopefully I can channel those good memories into a Reading shirt and we can go up there and get three points.”
