The players’ environment, spirit and connection with supporters is crucial, says Carlos Carvalhal.
After the full time whistle at The Cardiff City Stadium – in a game that saw Wednesday show great character to bounce back from 2-0 down – the squad made their way over to the supporters to show their appreciation.
The head coach believes this kind of relationship is vital for any club to thrive and he said:
“I believe in environments and these kind of things. This makes the fans closer to the players, because the fans look to these and can capture the feelings of the players.
“They are looking and can see the players are really fighting for Sheffield Wednesday and fighting right up until the last second.
“It’s something we never talk. When we score a goal, you see 11 players hug each other.
“And you feel it very strong that they are all here to win for Sheffield Wednesday.
“We have this kind of vibe and this is very important to me. It’s crucial. What was crucial 100 years ago is still crucial now, even though football now is a little different.”
