CarlosCarvalhal reflected on the defeat at MK Dons and said the players will put the setback behind them and look forward positively to the hectic Christmas calendar.
The Owls went down by the odd goal in three on Tuesday night but Carvalhal insists that confidence will not be knocked ahead of a busy festive period.
He said: “We were a shadow of ourselves in the first half and much better in the second half but there will be no problem with confidence.
“This group is all together and sometimes it is difficult to pinpoint why certain things can happen in certain games.
“But what we are certain of is that we must correct the mistakes we have made when we get back to Hillsborough for the next two games.
“We pressed more in the second half and made more things happen. We might have got an equaliser but we did not on this occasion.
“But we are up, not down. We have had two accidents away from home more recently, tonight and at Charlton.
“But we are together, we are strong. Nothing is decided in December, nothing is decided in January, it is where we are in May that counts.”
