Confidence in the camp

14 December 2015

After Saturday’s thrilling comeback at Cardiff, Carlos Carvalhal says it has given additional energy and confidence to the team.

Trailing 2-0 to the Bluebirds at half time, Wednesday had it all to do in the second half, but do it they did.

The in-form duo of Fernando Forestieri and Barry Bannan struck the goals that earned the Owls a point and as Wednesday head to MK Dons on Tuesday, the head coach says that fightback has boosted the squad.

He said: “We are ready to the game and will be 100%.

“We know that it will be difficult, there are no easy games in the championship.

“We are with the confidence because we are doing well but also because, when you come from a game that you were losing 2-0, finish 2-2 and at the last seconds you are trying to win, this gives energy to the team.

“It’s like additional energy to the team.”

The Owls face a Dons side in need of points to haul themselves out of the bottom three and Carlos continued:

“We are confident but we know it will be a tough game. We expect a lot from MK Dons.

“There are no easy games in the Championship.”
